A farmer in Leizhou, southern China's Guangdong Province, was understandably surprised when one of his cows gave birth to a calf with six legs and two tails. The two extra legs, complete with fully formed hooves, appear on its back.
The calf, who was born earlier this month, seems healthy enough despite his extra appendages, and now stands at 45cm tall and weighs 15kg.
The calf's owner, a farmer from Fujiayuan village, Leizhou, said he will keep the calf until someone wants to buy it.
Of course, this isn't the first time an animal has been born with extra limbs. Recent accounts of animals with unusual appendages include a five-legged piglet from China, a seven-legged lamb from New Zealand, and a piglet born in Croatia with six legs, two penises and two anuses who was nicknamed 'Octopig'.
The most similar case is perhaps this calf born with six legs in Nebraska...
